At The Heritage of Clear Lake, a meaningful day is about more than staying busy. It's about creating opportunities for residents to connect, move, create, laugh and continue doing the things that bring purpose and enjoyment to their lives.
Our memory care lifestyle is shaped around each resident—their interests, abilities, routines and personal history—so every day can offer meaningful moments and a sense of belonging.
Memory loss doesn’t look the same for everyone, and meaningful engagement shouldn’t either. Our B.R.A.N.C.H. program provides a shared framework for how our caregivers, nurses, chef and activities team support residents throughout each day.
Rather than expecting residents to adapt to a set routine, we take time to understand who they are, what matters to them and how we can meet them where they are. B.R.A.N.C.H. is centered around six principles:
Belonging — Creating emotional safety and opportunities for joy.
Resilience — Helping residents adapt while preserving dignity.
Acceptance — Honoring each resident and their current reality.
Nurture — Creating an environment where residents feel cared for and supported.
Connection — Building relationships that contribute to well-being and community.
Hope — Finding meaning and purpose in everyday life.
These principles guide more than our activity calendar. They influence how we interact, communicate and create meaningful experiences throughout each resident’s day.

There’s no single definition of a good day. For one resident, it may be listening to a favorite song and dancing with a caregiver. For another, it may be tending to a garden, creating something during an art activity or simply enjoying a conversation with friends.
Our programming provides opportunities for residents to participate in ways that feel comfortable and meaningful to them:
Music & Movement
Music, dancing, chair yoga and engaging exercise provide opportunities for movement, enjoyment and shared experiences.
Creativity & Familiar Interests
Art, baking, gardening and hands-on activities give residents opportunities to create, participate and reconnect with familiar interests.
Games & Social Connection
Bingo, games, Friday socials and afternoon conversations bring residents together for laughter, friendship and connection.
Community & Intergenerational Experiences
Neighbors, students, volunteers and community partners bring new relationships and experiences into life at The Heritage, creating an even greater sense of community.
Life doesn't stop on the weekend, and neither does meaningful engagement.
Residents have opportunities to participate in activities seven days a week, with programming shaped around their interests, abilities and preferences. Rather than programming simply for supervision, we focus on creating authentic opportunities for joy, connection and purpose.
